Annibale G. Ferrari grew up working in the family gastronomia (specialty food store) in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. At age 17, he immigrated to America and continued the family culinary tradition by opening his first Bay Area store in 1919. Today, there are 13 A. G. Ferrari Foods stores in the Bay Area, run by grandson Paul Ferrari. The stores feature a seasonal menu of freshly prepared entrées, authentic Italian-style baked goods, fresh bread baked daily, unique salads, traditional Italian appetizers, pastas, sandwiches, take-home dinners, stocks and soups. A.G. Ferrari also carries a large selection of Italian specialty foods that capture the quality and tradition of Italy. Products range from everyday Italian pantry basics, such as olive oil, vinegar, dried pastas, flours, and wine, to Italian jarred vegetables, and other Italian delicacies.
